Experience
Daniel J. Kirages, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT Dr. Kirages has been practicing as a physical therapist for several years. His training started at the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 1994. He continued at the University of Southern California for a graduate program in the Department of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, where he earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 1998. Since then he has been working at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, as well as, within his own private practice named Body Solutions Physical Therapy. He completed the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Orthopedic Manual Therapy Fellowship Program and earned the distinction of being a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2002. It was in 2003 when he became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Kirages attends to a diversified patient load consisting of orthopedic, neurological and pelvic floor muscle disorders. He has been a part of a published research team looking at the merit of physical therapy interventions with post-prostatectomy incontinence. Their research study was published in The Journal of Urology in July 2003. Enjoying working in the clinic, he also puts time in the academic world with guest lectures and assisting in several physical therapy programs in Southern California. Dr. Kirages is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Clinical Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, as well as, at Mount St. Mary’s College Department of Physical Therapy. He also serves as a clinical faculty member within the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Programs. His presentations on pelvic floor muscle disorders have taken him to local venues, state and national conferences, and as far as Yokohama, Japan for the World Conference of Physical Therapy. |
